Coastal Structures Corporation has announced the completion of new construction for Zilmet USA, located at 405 Technology Drive in Andrews, South Carolina. The project, a 150,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, represents one of the most significant industrial construction undertakings in Georgetown County in recent years and stands as a landmark addition to Coastal Structures’ commercial portfolio.
Zilmet USA is the American subsidiary of Zilmet, a family-owned Italian manufacturer founded in 1955 and recognized as the world’s largest producer of expansion tanks and heat exchangers. The company’s products are distributed in over 100 countries across the globe. The Andrews facility serves as Zilmet USA’s first U.S. manufacturing headquarters, representing a $32.7 million investment in Georgetown County and the relocation of the company’s North American operations to South Carolina. The facility opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in July 2025 and is expected to create approximately 50 skilled manufacturing positions in its initial phase, with the potential for a significant future expansion.
The new facility is among the most technologically advanced expansion tank manufacturing plants in the world, incorporating high levels of automation and robotics consistent with Zilmet’s global standards for precision engineering. Coastal Structures was selected to deliver the new construction, completing the project to the exacting specifications required to support world-class industrial manufacturing operations.
