After over a year of planning, construction for Myrtle Beach Fire Station 3 is set to begin, with Coastal Structures excited to be a part of this vital community project.
Located at the intersection of Kings Highway and Harrelson Boulevard, adjacent to the department’s training academy, this new fire station is crucial for meeting the growing demands on the fire department.
The initiative was approved during a recent Myrtle Beach City Council Workshop and is a significant component of the city’s Capital Improvement Project. This project directs newly-raised tax dollars towards enhancing services for first responders, storm-water management, and road improvements.
Fire Captain Jon Evans highlighted the necessity of the upgrade, noting that the current building—an old Air Force building—has been outgrown. You can view the WMBF news segment by clicking here.
The new station will provide much-needed space to improve efficiency for emergency responses, while the old site will serve as an administration and training center.
